Prayer Flags and Peacock Feathers

Well, we haven't quite made it to Guatemala but as for now we'll settle for Dublin. We left today, with a few more items and a few more hang ups than expected. We started off the trip 5 people, 2 dogs, and a snake, who will only be with us until San Luis Obispo. As we were leaving, all loaded up, we bottomed out of the driveway and damaged our exhaust pipe. So instead of heading down to San Luis Obispo we stopped off at our friend Alan's house. He fixed the exhaust pipe in about two minutes and cooked us an amazing dinner.

We will be in Dublin for the next day or so repairing a newly discovered oil leak. Making use of the lay over, we are decorating Purrrlina with Tibetan prayer flags, peacock feathers, and all the other goodies we brought with us. We are rethinking some of the packed goods, as the van is almost at capacity, hence the bottoming out, (but it was a steep hill).

We want to thank all those who came out to the going away party, the well wishes and good advice is much appreciated. We love you all and are missing you already.

The First Blog

Hey Everybody,

As you all know we are about to embark on a journey into Central America.
We will try and keep everyone updated on our adventures, safety, location and situation.
Telephones are expensive and we all have so many loved ones that calling all of you would make us broke really quick. So we decided to start blogging. As a means to keep in contact with you all.
We will be leaving on Saturday the 25th. On friday we will be hosting a going away party. At 734 59th st. in Oakland. Anybody need directions give us a call.
Anyway hope this blogging thing works out well.

Much Love,
The 5 ex-patriots
